Add New Consumers

The path for setting up a new consumer is:

  1. If they are not already a user, add them to the Users tab on the Admin page.
  2. You may allow them to view content as an individual, or if they are part of a group in your organization, add them to the Groups tab on the Admin page. It is a best practice to utilize groups when practical and minimize granting individuals direct access to brightR apps.
  3. Notify them via email with the unique address of your brightRserver so they can login after resetting their password. There is a template email in the Administration section of this QuickStart guide that may help you write the email notification.
  4. Let them know that they may not be able to see all the brightR apps that you’ve placed on your brightRserver, because they may only have permission to access a subset of apps.

Note that the dynamic security indicator will change from red to green as your password strength increases sufficiently to be accepted by the system.
